Translation: “It’s amazing that people believe everything is predestined, but they still look both ways when crossing the road.”
(In fact, Hawking notes that some people believe that everything is predetermined, yet still look before crossing the road and goes on to explain that there is a completely logical explanation for this which is consistent with the truth of determinism. See more here).
